11 Jan Bring Forth What is Within You
Join Elaine Pagels and Elizabeth Lesser in an intimate conversation about “bringing forth what is within you” and using that authentic voice on the page, in your daily life, and in the world.
Forty years ago, Elaine Pagels’ first book, The Gnostic Gospels, was an unlikely bestseller. Published in 1979, it won the National Book Award and brought her a MacArthur Genius Grant. Modern Library later named it one of the 100 best nonfiction books since 1900 – as did former Woodstocker, David Bowie. Now professor of Religion at Princeton University, Pagels’ most recent book is Why Religion: A Personal Story.
Elizabeth Lesser is one of Oprah Winfrey’s Super Soul 100, a collection of a hundred leaders who are using their voices and talent to elevate humanity. Lesser cofounded Omega Institute in 1977. She has written several books that guide seekers through new spiritual traditions in our culture. Her books include the New York Times bestseller, Broken Open, Marrow, and her forthcoming book, Cassandra Speaks: When Women are the Storytellers, the Human Story Changes.
