Bring Forth What is Within You

Join Elaine Pagels and Elizabeth Lesser in an intimate conversation about “bringing forth what is within you” and using that authentic voice on the page, in your daily life, and in the world.

Elaine-Pagels-Woodstock-BookfestForty years ago, Elaine Pagels’ first book, The Gnostic Gospels, was an unlikely bestseller. Published in 1979, it won the National Book Award and brought her a MacArthur Genius Grant. Modern Library later named it one of the 100 best nonfiction books since 1900 – as did former Woodstocker, David Bowie. Now professor of Religion at Princeton University, Pagels’ most recent book is Why Religion: A Personal Story.
