20 Feb Bar Scott: For the Love of Writing
Calling all writers! If you’ve been writing or wanting to write for years but haven’t felt comfortable sharing your work with others yet, Bar Scott’s workshop is the place to start. And if you’re a writer working on a new project or writing in a new genre and you’re looking for other writers who will give you meaningful feedback to move your project forward, this is the workshop for you. Bar creates a safe, creative, inspiring place to share your writing and your questions about writing with other writers. Exercises and discussion will inspire you to write more, be afraid less. Each attendee will have the opportunity to meet with Bar for a one-on-one session by phone or Skype in the weeks that follow the festival. If you’d like to communicate with Bar before signing up, please do by writing her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Bar Scott is a singer-songwriter and memoirist who loves to see other people working with words, rhythm, and creativity almost as much as she loves doing her own work. She has published one memoir, The Present Giver, and a workbook for writers, The Lone Writer’s Writing Club. SheWrites Press, Timber Press, and The Sun Magazine have published her stories. And she has recorded 7 albums of original songs as well as an audio version of her memoir. She is the producer and facilitator of Wet Mountain Valley Writers Workshops, and has been with the Woodstock Writers Festival, now Woodstock Bookfest, since its inception.
“I found your presentation spellbinding. If I hadn’t already written a memoir, your workshop of the morning would spur me on to start one…Thanks for your heartfelt time with us. You always pull the best from us and surprise us about ourselves!
-Maria Weber, memoirist and workshop attendee, Buena Vista, CO
